dealing with waste at the source

http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20061119/CPSOLEIL/61119124/5803/CPSOLEIL

« Nos comportements de consommation favorisent le grand nombre de déchets que l'on produit. Il faudrait s'en préoccuper », dit Manon Lambert, secrétaire générale de l'Ordre des pharmaciens du Québec.

I couldn't agree more.

Everything is overpackaged! There was an article a couple of weeks ago where people were encouraged to send excess packaging directly to Rona Ambrose.... but anyway, I see that the original article is about a different issue: medication.

I was actually alluding to overconsuming in general. do you still have that article about sending packaging to Rona Ambrose? I think that's a great idea! Actually, to save on postage and gas, I don't mind dropping it off piece by piece on my way to work. hehehe

It was in the Ottawa Citizen on NOv. 2, 2006. This is what was written in Tony Cote's Action Line column...

At a meeting sponsored by the Sierra Club of Canada the other night, it was suggested that packaging destined for landfill be sent, instead, to Rona Ambrose, the minister responsible for the environment. As a member of Parliament, there is no charge to send mail to her.

Here's her address: The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of the Environment, House of Commons, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0A9.
