What benefit do spammers realize by continually sending out messages promoting "performance enhancing" drugs or "hot" stock tips - are they just trying to create a market need to boost the spam filtering industry, like ex-virus programmers that get hired by anti-virus companies and ex-hackers by the government?
... Or are there really still that many stupid people around that they can take advantage of?
